Who hasn't heard of the glacier mummy "Ötzi"? This Neolithic hunter wore the oldest known evidence of "chausses". They are considered precursors of what we know as pants, which is only partly true. Both garments existed at the same time, only in different cultures
Chausses were widespread in the European Middle Ages. They were tied to one's braies (underpants, basically) by means of strings. Later, people tied them directly to their jerkins. They existed in a variety of shapes, colours and materials. Also, they were to be found in all social strata.
On warmer days, it was a good idea to wear chausses made of linen fabric. Here, we offer our own version of this popular piece of clothing from the "Wolfram" series. The smooth linen fabric cools and feels lovely on the skin. The cotton content can absorb moisture and keep it from the body.
Linen chausses are ideal for hot summer days. Of course, we also offer braies to match our chausses.
